guys when i'm running windows on my macbook and i click the "use the device as the primary monitor" it not only doesn't work but the secondary monitor gets booted and stops working till i go back in and click the "extend my windows desktop onto this monitor" So what i'm saying is the 2nd monitor will work, but will reject my request for it to be the primary monitor..

This sucks cause windows won't let me run my full screen apps and games without this function working. help me out

so let me get this straight
you are connecting a external 20" monitor to your macbook, and in windows, you try to set the external monitor as your primary monitor (in display property?) and it doesn't work (what do you mean by monitor gets booted, like it completely disconnect it? is the primary working? is the secondary enabled after being "disabled")

are you trying to do extendent desktop or mirroring?

thanks for the quick reply,

I can successfuly make my dell 20" a secondary monitor and i can successfully extend it on to my desktop, but when i click on the button to make my 20" the primary monitor, the 20" goes black and shows no connection- ie: i have to start over and go in to settings and activate the monitor again before it will work. I hope that is more clear.

since macbook has integrated graphic card, i dont know if you can go Advanced in display property, settings, advanced, (okay, this is where i dont know...) it should say something like Intel(R) graphic......, and graphic property and such

after you check the Extend my windows onto this monitor, check in the aforementioned location to see if both display are enabled... hope it helps
