I had trouble with my home button so I decided to use this method to enter in DFU mode.
lternate Method: Going Into DFU Mode Without Button Pushing: (on windows) Easier than timing the buttons just right!

1.) First download the required archive http://www.sendspace.com/file/93fx93

2.) Extract the archive to the root of your hard drive, should be C:/DFU/

3.) Connect your iPhone and ignore iTunes

4.) Goto Start - run

5.) Next type in “c:/dfu/dfu iBSS.m68ap.RELEASE.dfu”

6.) Wait for iPhone to show a “white” screen

7.) Now you may proceed to downgrade!

After I enter into DFU mode and then do the restore from itunes I get the error "1604". What should I do?

Means the baseband changed with the 2.0.2 update, and downgrading isnt possible I dont think?

Not sure the baseband changed, but I got this infamous error....I just used a different computer. If you dont have another computer just keep trying.
