I sent an email to steve and received a call from someone there.

She said that the issue is being investigated.

That is all the information that they have.

Seems to me that they are just in denial and want to run through the existing stock on the panels they have and are working to correct the issue on newer batches.

To me it seems like we will be stuck with yellow screens for a long while (until their defective panels are all sold to unsuspecting people).

If people are not looking for the problem than they will not notice it.

I just think the whole situation is sad.

Sounds like their ignorance just might be bliss then huh?

Got my call today too, the guy said, oh we never heard about that before?!?! He also told me the only way to get my imac looked at is to drive it into the store. I recently hurt my back in a car accident so I can barely get out of bed let alone haul a 27" imac downstairs, through the entire mall, and into the apple store. Thanks alot apple :( Can't they just send a box to my house?

They are never going to admit to anything on the phone, and the people who talk to us regular people probably don't know themselves.

We can only hope, behind the scenes, someone knows. However, I'm not hopeful. They consider a consumer machine, and I'm not sure 100 percent of the panels are going to look good during this generation, but I hope I'm wrong.

A couple of different CSRs told me the same thing very recently. Quite insulting to not even acknowledge it. He was very polite though. :)

Had a friend take it into the apple store and the Genius at first acted like he didnt see the yellow even though it covers the bottom 1/3 of my imac 27" screen. Then pulled up macrumors, went to the yellow tinge test thread and showed him the gray bars. Now they are ordering a replacement screen and have to haul my imac back in on Tuesday. lets hope this fixes it.
