For the past few years, the same pattern repeats. It is always waiting for Apple to release new products. Then, come to disappointment and more waiting and visit to macrumors. Sometimes I cannot sleep well and wake up in the middle of the night to visit macrumors hoping for news that new products that have issues fixed (especially the MBP since 2015) will be released. Due to waiting for the iPad PRO 2018 and MBP without that stupid butterfly keyboard, I have developed white hairs and feel burnt out. It was a joy to use Apple products many years ago but since Tim took charge, I just waste my time and have postponed several projects waiting for Apple to release products that could bring the same quality and innovation as before. Apple is supposed to make products to help customers to save time. Instead, they are making some of us to waste time on waiting. Being their customers became a very unemployable experience. As a long term user, I am stuck with the OS and I cannot find other hardware that could run Mac OS well.

I hope that Apple will release the iPad PRO 12.9" 2018 without the notch, an Apple Pencil that does not lose charge quickly even when it is just sitting on the desk and a 15" MBP with a keyboard like the pre-2016 one. I willy buy these products and never look for Apple products again until Tim resigns.

If An Apple Pencil or Apple in general is causing you this much stress where you feel “Burnt out” and you have developed ‘white hairs’, then I would suggest abandoning Apple altogether, as it seems to be affecting you on an unhealthy level. But I don’t believe Tim Cook is to blame for your own stress levels, which seems self induced on your behalf.

What's so bad about the current 12.9 that would be fixed in the 2018?

After I have used the 2017 version for a day, I understand why it is better to have a thinner bezel especially when watching youtube videos. Bezel-less might not be good if it is difficult to hold the device without touching the screen by accident. It would be nice if Apple could increase the resolutions as I want to do several things at the same time especially opening two pdf documents with easy-to-read font size. Lighter, longer battery life and perhaps more memory are always welcome. Good if they could change the way to charge the Apple Pencil. I heard that the next version should have a dedicated GPU like the iPhone X. Of course, having a phone function is super nice.

I have several projects on hold because of the keyboard/GPU issues of the MBP. I need a second monitor to do my work. My 2010 MBP is too old to run 4K display. If I buy a so-so monitor now and get a 4K monitor later, I waste money. I want to get a MBP but Apple changed the design of the keyboard. I also need Nvidia GPU to do CUDA related work. Apple uses ATI GPU in recent MBP.

Simple solution - don't buy Apple products. If you're always getting disappointed by their offerings, then move on to a product that doesn't disappoint. Why get "white hairs or burnt out" over a multibillion dollar company and it's products. Its not like they're emotionally invested in your well being.

There is your answer. Apple does not use Nvidia, so why hold off on buying a laptop when Apple's laptop won't work for you. Find a windows machine that fits your needs better.

If you're serious about CUDA, then you need to bypass Apple, as @DarthVader! said.

Depending on your needs, you may find getting a desktop and installing a Tesla card may be a much better way to go.

I used to be very satisfied with every single products Apple released until it became like Wallmart. Dissatisfaction increases more and more after Tim took over.

Am I correct that at least for the next 2-3 years, the chance of Apple using Nvidia GPU in MBP is 0%? As I recall, they used to switch back and forth between Nvidia and ATI. I considered the possibility of using eGPU but somebody mentioned that there is a bottleneck due to the connection. Also, there is an increased cost. Besides, I don't like those butterfly keyboards. I am waiting to see what they do with the keyboard before making a decision.

If this has been happening for years then you can't blame it on Apple at this point... if you already know the pattern then why would you expect any different? you have to shift the blame to yourself at this point since you keep coming back for more abuse..... If you already know what to expect then temper your expectations and you'll be fine.

On the contrary, just as long you don't get white hair thinking about new products (it feels like it sometimes)

May I suggest a life outside of Apple? Waiting for new products and losing sleep? If wasting time is a concern, I suggest refocusing your interests in a hobby. Maybe hiking or kayaking? How about painting? meditation, or possibly yoga?

So many things to do besides worrying about Apple. That to me is the biggest waste of time.
