So yesterday when this website anounced that netshare was available again I went to the appstore on my iPhone and purchased it :D.

Later that day I went back into the app store to look at my available 'updates' and the iPhone froze! When I turned it off and back on -> Stuck at apple logo. AGAIN! (This is the 4th time that has happened to me, I'm going into the apple store on monday for a replacement)

Then I had to restore my iPhone, losing the app, and i hadn't synced or downloaded the app on itunes so now I don't have the app at all, which I paid for, and which is no longer in the iTunes store!!!

this Sucks!

I'm pretty sure he wants netshare and not a refund. You can probAbly call apple and tell them that you legally paid for it and that they need to send you a copy... Then when they tell you no you can find out why they took it down and tell all of us!!!

Well i was on the phone with someone when the call dropped!! I've been having so many problems with this thing. I'll call back from a landline. The guy didn't seem to comprehend the app that I purchased not being in the actual store anymore

Well i got a refund :-(

I pushed him hard for answers but he didn't know anything, telling me that they can't control when dev add/remove their apps from the store. I said that the dev's website said they didn't remove it, apple did, and they didn't know why.

The guy was clueless.

I will be so pissed if this app isn't reposted (which I really doubt it will be) I had it! I had the app and now it's gone!!!! AAARRGGHHH:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Don't you have a backup of the app somewhere?

When my iPhone does a backup to my computer, a grab a copy of all the apps and save them off to a different directory so I can copy them back if I need to. I have zero faith in Apple's sync logic. It seems to have more holes in it than Bonnie and Clyde.

No, I bought the app while I was at work, then the iPhone froze up on the way home from work and I had to restore it when I got home.

I've been doing the same -- buying apps both at home and at work. Then when I get to the other place I re-download it (since I already bought it), or I use the features in iTunes where you can pull purchased apps from the iPhone into iTunes.

It's been a real pain having to do restores when the iPhone locks up. My main sync is with a computer at home, but if it locks up at work... well, I need my phone, so I have to do the restore there. What a mess.

Why do you restore your phone so often? I have not needed to restore my phone since launch day.

My phone has needed a daily restore for the past 4 days. Luckily Apple is sending me a new one and it should be here on Monday.

Get Netshare back! BOYCOTT iTunes Store

In an effort to teach Apple Computer Inc. a marketshare lesson, I encourage all potential iTunes store customers to BOYCOTT the store until Apple Computer Inc. and AT&T Inc. allow for the distibution and purchase of Nullriver's NetShare application.

Said application would allow iPhone users to access the internet with their notebook and laptop computers.

Nullriver claims that Apple has said that this app is not legal to sell in the US.

This is non-sensical since I, an AT&T and Apple Computer customer have been unsing my AT&T Tilt phone's Internet Share application for over a year! Not once has AT&T said that I could not use this application or that I am violating any agreement. I can also say that all of the employees for the company I work for have been doing the same!

Let NetShare be available! Until then, BOYCOTT the iTunes store altogether and I am certain that Apple Computer Inc. and AT&T Inc. will see the light...

I need to figure out if I can back it up as well.

I bought it yesterday on my phone, and today I did a sync, and backed up all my apps and had them copy over to iTunes. I never download apps through iTunes only via the phone, and they get copied over. When I was done netshare was NOT listed as an app in my iTunes, but it is still on my phone.

So i am not sure if it backed it up at all.

Did you even read the ToS from at&t? Everyone was shocked to see this app be released in the first place considering tethering isn't allowed. No one is going to boycott the app store for something as stupid as this. Good luck with that.

Please stop making Apple users look bad. We are way more intelligent than that. Apple, Inc. is what used to be Apple Computer, Inc. At least get their name right.

Thanks I will do that when I flip back over to mac os. I am bootcamped in vista right now.

I just wonder if having the backup will allow me to reinstall it. I assume yes.

I THINK yes. Because the authorization is running your unique ID against the DRM against a itunes app check of inventory.

Apple would have to remove that item from your purchase inventory in order for the check to fail. And then they have to make sure if they remove it, it only removes it from US customers.

let's hope.

That's exactly what I'm wondering. I've never restored my phone. I bought the phone the day it came out.

I doubt Apple would go that far.

Hopefully this debacle will prompt AT&T to remove the silly restrictions on tethering. They are selling us 5GB of data - why should they care how it's used?

Well taking the application out all together from all the regional app stores makes no sense to me. With the danish carrier using the iphone as a modem is not against the contract.

Same here....Germany's T-Mobile allows tethering. Why do we have to suffer because of the US contracts? :(
