Honestly, it felt like we slowly went from rounded rectangles to super rounded rectangles to now pills.
The pill shape everything looks bad! Tags in Reminder and Notes are pills! We got pills mixed with rounded rectangles. Shorter notifications are pills, but they’re rounded rectangles when bigger. We got pills in Control Center with rectangles.
The tab views are pills, they are bigger now too and take up more space to have that floating effect in addition to unnecessary padding in some areas.
We also got bigger toolbars! More wasted space. Flat design mixed in with some depth. So gaudy. Obnoxious animations.
That was a bit of a tangent, but I don’t like the pills in general, especially the mix. Rounded rectangles are nicer and fit better with a canvas like highlighting text. It’s worse when it’s mixed, because it feels inconsistent.
