I was checking my iCloud subscriptions today when I saw I now have 4TB of iCloud storage when I’m only supposed to have 2TB. It shows up on both my iPad and iPhone. I don’t have Apple One. I didn’t get any emails about increased storage or any extra charges for it.

Has this happened to anyone else?

The only way I know of to have 4TB of iCloud Storage is to have Apple One and purchase 2TB/mo on top of that. The only other thing I can think of is that these iCloud subscriptions can be shared with people on your family plan so if someone on your family plan is paying for 2TB/mo they can share it with others on the same family plan.

Same here. I don’t have Apple One and buy 2TB a month. Somehow it’s showing that I have 4TB.

friend of mine's icloud storage also has doubled from 50 gb to 100 gb.
not sure if this is a bug or new plans are being rolled out slowly

Thanks, I don't think family sharing is on. I double checked my settings.

That would be really cool! It's been awhile. Here's to hoping! Mine is still 2TB. :(

Can we get a screenshot?

I tried to get one of my family members to add storage but they can't - just to go to "Change Storage Plan" forces them to "Stop Using Family Storage" to go further. So the only way I know that could cause this is if one has Apple One + 2TB $9.99. But screenshots show people have this without doing that.

Hopefully this is a 2x storage rollout?! That would be cool. So far no one I know has this yet. Here's to hoping :)

(Picture below = the only way I know to get 4TB).

I've got the 50gb iCloud plan and it's showing up as 100gb on all devices. It's been like this for a little over a week. Probably a bug, but it'd be cool if it stayed this way. A buck per month for 100gb isn't too bad.

Unfortunately I have 2TB of iCloud+ storage which is full (I have it via Apple One) and desperately want to increase it to 4TB, but can't find a way to do it. A couple of years ago it was announced that this was possible, but apparently not anymore.

Call Apple Care? Suggestions?

Should be Settings—>AppleID—>iCloud—>Manage Storage—>Change Storage Plan.

So yeah, it’s a bit buried, plus it’s a little confusing because what you want to click is the button that says 2TB - in Apple UI logic you’re adding 2TB, not choosing a 4TB plan.

This support article states that "After you subscribe to Apple One, you can buy more iCloud storage if you need more. With both Apple One and an iCloud+ plan, you can have up to 4TB of total iCloud storage." - if those steps don't resolve it, I'd call Apple Care for help.

I personally don't have it. But several people on Reddit have also observed this increase to 4TB (or having their storage doubled). I really hope this is true because I'm not looking forward to have to buy Apple One just to get another 2TB.

I read that article and in the method provided to get 4tb is to already pay for the 2tb then upgrade to the premier apple one plan and OP stated that they do not have apple one.

Thanks, it was actually in reply to Ted13 but he already has AppleOne, so might not work for him either.
