I had a problem with the sleep/wake button on my iPhone 5, so I had to get it exchanged before the warranty expired next week. The old phone had 6.1 jailbroken on it, and I have the backup on my computer. The new phone has 6.1.4 on it, which is not yet jailbrakable as far as I know.

So can I somehow put the 6.1 jailbroken backup on my new 6.1.4 phone? Not really that savvy when it comes to modding/hacking the iPhone. Thanks for any help!

I have 6.1.4 but have backup of 6.1, can I downgrade?

You can restore your backup but it will not be jailbroken.
You'll have your old contacts, pics, txts, app settings etc

That's what I was afraid of, guess I'll just wait for iOS7 to be jailbroken. Thanks for the info!

just to sum it up, the other two are right of course, but not necessarily clear enough if you aren't that tech savvy :). an itunes backup doesn't contain all data that's on your phone, the OS, for instance, isn't part of the backup. it's just data like what settings you had set, which apps you placed where on your phone, etc. you can of course restore to that old backup, but you're stuck on 6.1.4.

I hope the other two don't take offence :)
