I wanted the iPad really bad, and still do, but the iPhone 4 kinda blew me away. So what to do with the money? Its one or the other. I have an iPhone 3g already- 8gig in black.

They're not comparable and if you think they are, perhaps you should re-evaluate the reasons why you are looking at each device.

Yes I know this. What I am asking is what to spend my money on. I can only afford one. I have a PC and an iPhone 3g.

It doesn't matter if they are comparable she can only afford one.

It's like saying should I get a new dishwasher or microwave? They aren't comparable but if I can only afford one, I can only afford one.

Why don't you simply split the money in half, giving you two lots of 300. Then add another 300 to each half making two lots of 600.... then you can buy both.

Me personally?

An iPad. The iPad has revolutionized the way I view computing. I could see if this would be your first iPhone, but seeing as you already have the 3G and the 4.0 OS upgrade on the 21st will give you 85% of the functionality that the iPhone 4 has.

That being said, the iPhone 4 is going to be hot, hot, hot, and I can't wait to get my hands on one come the morning of the 24th.

Any chance you could pay cash for the iPad and put the iPhone 4 on plastic and pay it off quickly? :D

Uhh...obviously you evaluate which function you value the most. The question that the OP is asking is implying which brand of "dishwasher" she should buy.

Nope, I dont use credit cards. They get me in trouble HAHA! I think I am leaning more towards an iPad because I can get some school books on it for my Legal classes, and all my scriptures for church. I have them all on my iPhone but the screen is so small.

This is the reason so many Americans have so much debt.

I vote for iPhone 4. I have a MBP and at first when i saw the iPad, I almost bought it right there, but the next time i saw it, I was like "wow, this is cool, but its really nothing special (IMOIMOIMO)." Its not convenient to take everywhere, and I think simply because of that it's not worth it...See sig for my answer ;)

How about looking into what you can possibly sell the 3G for to help subsidize the cost of your 4?

iPhone. The first thing I got was the original iPhone. Then a MacBook. Then the iPhone 3G. Then the iPad. Then the iPhone 3GS. And now the iPhone 4 will be coming June 3rd.

The iPhone started it all and so that is my suggestion.

No, the reason why so many Americans have so much debt is because they have little to no self control.

She didn't quantify her statement, so I don't know if it was a case of she had to wait a month or two to have the money saved up, or if it would take her a year to do it.

Used wisely; plastic is a good financial tool. In some senses, it's a lot better to do that than use cash (a la extended warranty on products through CC company, 0% financing etc.)

If you want to carry a man-purse around, iPad.

Otherwise, iP4.

Someone needs to pay more attention to screen names.

OP: It seems as though you want something with no relevant need for either seeing how you could buy an iPad over an iPhone or vice versa.

And no one calls them "legal classes". ;)

Why is it "Americans" have so much debt? lot of snobby people here. If there were Americans bashing other countries in every other post here there would be an uproar.

Btw get the iphone....an 8gb 3g? thats gotta be painfully slow at this point plus it doesnt support all of the os 4 new features.

Starting Balance 600
Buy iPad 16GB Wifi -500
Sell 3G +200?
Buy iPhone 4 -300 (if upgrade eligible)
Ending Balance ~0

Work a few extra hours for all applicable taxes :)

Hey, I'm American. Born and raised here, and I have never bought something that I couldn't buy outright. I never said all Americans are in debt, it's just that there's a much larger percentage than other countries.
