Sorry, I'm one of those guys that always needs to have the latest products :p

I have a 1st-gen iPod Touch and a 3rd-gen iPod Nano, just for the flying hell of it, should I get a 4th-gen Nano? Does anyone else on the forum have a 3G and a 4G?

There's one guy here that gets the new nano every year no matter what.

I just saw the new 4G nanos for the first time today. They are really nice, but IMO the feel is not nearly as good as the 3G. I think the 4G nano feels almost cheap and flimsy whereas the 3G, while very light, feels much more solid. So I say no.

Bonjour.

I actually prefer the 3G for a lot of things compared to my 4G. The accelerometer is irritating in many situations, turning it sideways for video is a bit of a cop out considering the 3G did everything without having to rotate - if the screen has been a 3:2 or even a 16:9 then fine but it's the exact same 4:3 screen just rotated to portrait.

I love the fullscreen album art on the 4G, the better sound and the colours but there's not enough between them to make me say yes to somebody asking if they should get one.

EDIT: The 4G has a much shorter battery lifespan for video playback - it's considerably shorter and when you're playing games it drops off even faster.

If you don't need the extra capacity, NO!

I've tried the 4G nano and frankly, I like the 3G nano better because I can stuff a 3G nano (even with the big Speck ToughSkin case) into my pants pocket easily. :)

i have both the 3G and the 4G and have to say i prefer the 3G
as others have said the turning screen thing is pretty annoying, esp every time u want to do something simple like change the volume and ur stuck with the coverflow screen
i only wanted the 16gb storage, so if 8gb is enough for u then i'd say stick with the 3G

get one if you need it. not because you want the latest. heck, some people still use photoshop cs on their macs. and we have cs4 coming soon. buy it because you need it, not because you want a new toy. like for example there are new seagate freeagent go drives out there. I had the old and ugly black notebook external with the orange light on one side. the new ones are up to 500GB with a dock and carrying case (mac version) for $189.99. with metal design and cooler look. did i buy another? nope. my drive functions the same as the new drives, albeit a smaller size. but it has the same function.
