Sorry if this is completely the wrong place to be but I really need some technical help and the apple helpline is closed. I was plugging my ipod into my ipod player like a dock with speakers attached and my hand slipped and kind of jammed my ipod onto the little docking thing now my ipod is making this really high pitched constant noise and i can't turn it off or do anything with it. Please help I am going insane.

What type of iPod is it? If it's an iPod Classic or a previous generation iPod (not a Nano) you might have nicked the hard drive.
