Hello to anyone reading.

Does anyone know if the iMovie shipping with the latest iLife bundle has an increased total movie length. Been looking for the maximum length on the apple site to no avail.

Thanks,

Joe

I don't know of any limit to the movies you make in iMovie, other than the amount of hard drive space you have. I have walked away from the computer when importing video from tape and had iMovie create several hours of movie that I had to edit out.

Now, if you mean how many hours can you export to iDVD, the new version does 2 hours. (as opposed to 90 minutes like the last version)

Thanks

Thanks for the info. Do you know what the metrics are for the data imports? As in does it go down to a minimum percentage of hard disk free or something definable? I have yet to get imOive to import 2 hours for me.

Thanks again.

How much HDD space do you have free? DV is about 12-13gig per hour. Plus you want to a some "extra" space beyond that for transitions/FX. Also, the more framented and full a HDD is the worse it will perform (especially when it comes to video).

Does it give you some sort of error message when you try to encode over 2hrs of video at once? Have you tried breaking it down into small recording sessessions instead of doing it all at once?
