I have a song on my iPhone that I cant't delete, cause it doesnt show in iTunes

And it doesn't show in iPodRip either. This is how I noticed it:

I have had the whole album (called Until The End of Time) on the iPhone for a while. Then today for some reason I saw it was there twice on the album list. Both albums has all the songs in them.

So I tried deleting it in my playlist in iTunes and sync, but the album was still on my album list on the iPhone. Now the cover is gone though, and I only have one song on there - the rest are gone.

So when I remove the album in iTunes I still have one song on there. When I add the album again, the album will be there twice, and then both albums will contain all the songs.

Weird and a little annoying. Anything I can do other than reinstall the iphone (which I wont do for something so minor since Im gonna lose all my app saves... which is RIDICULOUS!)

Have you tried simply unsyncing your music and then resyncing it? I'd do that way before considering anything else. You won't lose anything.

yeah I could try that. gonna do it tonight though as I cant use my phone while its syncing takes forever

I'm pretty sure that the iTunes backup saves app states, so it would all be back like before when you restore the backup. At least that's what it was like for me when I went from OS 2 to OS 3 and now to 3.1...

Yes, a backup saves app settings. Sometime some are lost, but that's an issue with the app, not the backup.

I had to start all over on my things when I went from my ipod touch to my iphone and used the backup file. The only thing that got saved was my email settings.. all games and such I had to start all over in... and that really kills the game to me. but then again i went from ipod to iphone. i had just heard that everything would be saved this way, but maybe it works better when its an iphone backup im gonna use next time

man when I unsync all music it aint on there, but when I put it back on it's still there. So I tried removing just the whole album again, but that one song is still there. I dont get it

edit: I see I have the song as well on one of my Genius playlists. I deleted it now to see whats gonna happen, but no matter what it shouldnt duplicate just because its on a genius list

lol now its gone because I removed the album. but when i sync it back I still get two copies. so freakin weird
