I have an alu mac and i want to run linux on it....

I'd love to run slackware on it... Since its an intel processor is it possible? I don't want to use vmware or fusion... I want it on the real hardware

Yes, it's possible, but you're going to have to Google for the Linux hardware support of damn near every device in your system. The wireless support is probably iffy at best, but everything else is probably okay.

I don't use wireless so thats okay..... Can linux boot up using the newer bios software mac uses? And how do i partition it on a mac?

Yeah, the Mac will appear like a normal PC to Linux, bootwise. More than that I can't really say because I've never installed Linux on an Intel Mac. There are some gotchas with hard drive partitioning -- mostly, just don't delete the 200MB partition on the drive (it's for EFI) -- but nothing terrible. You might Google for instructions to install Gentoo Linux on a MacBook or something similar (I think I saw that specific article not long ago) -- it'll give the instructions clearly and specifically, and although you probably won't need most of the information, that's better than not having enough. Gentoo users are very good at writing specific and detailed instructions.
