I made an iPad reservation at my local Apple store. It says I can pick up an iPad between 9:00am to 3:00pm.

So my question is this: how will they know who I am and that I do have a reservation? I printed the email confirmation but it really doesn't say anything special nor does it have any confirmation numbers.

what would keep any Joe Schmoe from sending out these mass emails and having tons of people printing the same confirmations?

surely Apple has to have something figured out don't they?

While not knowing when filling up the reserve form, they took blood analysis and finger prints to compare to when you come in to pick it up.

Really? What do you expect? They'll probably just need your name and that's it. Maybe an ID at worst case scenario.

Do you also need a manual for toilet paper?

Well it's a dumb question, expect a dumb response

Really, name should be enough. Maybe ID.

If it was any more complicated than that you would have been told while reserving or in the email confirmation

Sorry about the sarcastic responses. You probably should have called the Apple Store for an answer to this question.

You did have to create an Apple account or login with one when you reserved. The account has your information, so all they do is an ID check.

Yes there is no way they can prevent another person with the same name as you from picking up your goods if they know your Apple ID (unless the store recognizes you). :p

Earlier tonight I spoke with a rep at the 5th ave store in NYC.
I'll not be able to pickup my reserved iPads so I asked him if it would be possible to send a friend instead. According to him they will not request any kind of ID card/passport/etc, "just make sure that the person you send to pick up your stuff knows your Apple ID" was the answer to my question.
I suppose it will be as simple as a list of the Apple IDs with corresponding reservations.
