NOTHING works except for texting!!!

My Yahoo mail would not send messages or push any messages into my phone.. Nothing works.. it even have problem with loading the mail...

Most of my applications are internet-based apps and all of them are useless right now, they all load forever when I want to use them..

Even the internet would not work properly..

Before you ask, yes I am in the area where there is full bars and I even had it on wifi at my home, but still nothing works right..

Any ideas what should I do?

I might have to try restoring it.. But will I lose all of my information on the iPhone including all of my notes in the notes app?

Try rebooting it first if you have not yet. If that doesn't work, yeah, restore would be next. You can try restoring it and restoring the contents from a backup -- you won't lose any Notes or settings this way, but it also increases the chances that if there's something corrupt, it gets re-created corrupt. But try that second, and if it doesn't work, go to restoring it and setting it up as new third, which will make you lose settings and notes and things like that.

Yes I already have rebooted it..

I will give restoring a try either tonight or tomorrow morning

thank you for the advice.

Also, the only way Yahoo will push is if you pay for the upgraded service. Otherwise, you're stuck pinning a link and checking it on the net.

^^ are you serious?

I already have restored my iPhone last weekend, it is been functioning better BUT the push mails are not working at all..

But now that you mentioned that I have to pay for the upgrade to push the emails.. that made me wonder.. cuz before I had this problems, the mails were pushing with no problem at all, but now it is all screwy, it would not push unless I get in mail and fetch the mail myself... So am I supposed to pay for the upgrade in order to make the push work?

any solution to this?

You don't have to pay for upgraded Yahoo mail service to get push email. However, judging by the discussion here and elsewhere, Yahoo push to the iPhone is notoriously unreliable. That isn't a problem with your phone.

And you are not stuck reading it on the web either. The iPhone Mail app includes set up options for Yahoo mail.

Push does not work well at all. In fact Yahoo mail didnt work well for me in general. Many times it would fail sending without any rhyme or reason. Then it it would send multiple copies of the same email to my contacts. I then switched to a google account it works perfectly, it does not support push but fetch saves a little bit on battery life.... besides with the google account i setup my calendar and contacts which is pretty handy with mine and my wife's iphone , it helps us stay in sync .. so to speak.

I dont think the email issue is your phone. Try and use a wifi connection to see if that speeds up the web page issue, then you would know if it your phone or just the 3G. You can also try getting another sim card. I have read that can solve some of these connection issues.

normally it would work just fine but then out of blue it would say the mail cannot be sent, there is an error

and then everything on my iphone wont work after the email stopped working.. for example when my yahoo mail wont work, then my weather application wont work either, and then I tried to use my bank of america application to check my balance, it would not work either, it would just load forever just like yahoo mail..

my only solution to this is keep rebooting when this problem comes up.. pretty frustrated here but I have to suck it up and wait 2 years before my contract expires..

I am pretty disappointed, maybe I should try different emails but hell with it, too many people I would have to notify about my new email and whatever.. Also I love yahoo on my computer so I am not going to make the switch.

You might try turning push off in the Settings and just fetching the Yahoo mail on one of the optional schedules. If you are keeping the phone despite disliking it and if Yahoo mail is the root cause of your dislike, at least give that option a try. It saves batteries over push too, and fetching every 15 or 30 minutes is close to push for most purposes.

Just a thought.
