I have Burn-in Pixels on My Menu Bar

I have just noticed that I have burn-in pixels on my Menu Bar, I can slightly make out Help etc. which makes sense because thats exactly where the Safari Help and other menu items are.

Anyway how do I get rid of this. I know of some techniques that play sets of colors on the screen to "un-stick" the pixels; but all these techniques don't play full screen, which is useless for me because my burn-in pixels are in the menu bar.

I've actually noticed that if you initiate a proper shut down, the computer will attempt to clear out those pixels.

Maybe keep it off a few days, and make sure the computer is kept in a very cool area.

What do you mean by a full shut down? And how would the computer try an attempt to get rid of them, just wondering?

Well.. just click on the apple and choose shut down.

I'm not sure what exactly happens to the screen, but I had a slight burn in from play a game... where the static part of the game burned into the screen.

I noticed it because I suddenly lost power to my iMac, turned it back on, went to the desktop and sure enough saw the burned in image from the game still on my desktop.

I went to shutdown the computer properly, turned it back on, and the image was gone... just my experience.

Thanks for your tip, it worked for me. I had the computer off for a few days (I was on vacation). And now it's gone.

EDIT: I guess I wasn't looking very well, because unfortunatly I can still clearly see the Safari Menu Bar (File, Edit, View, History etc.) etched into my menu bar. Any other tips?

from my experience when the pixels are burned in there is no real way to get rid of them.thats the reason they are there. the fact is they are burned in. the pixels no longer respond to anything properly because they hold some of that leftover image.

so you probibly wont be able to fix that. idk, the only way is to get a replacement screen, but i could very well be wrong
