Should I finally switch to the new 2.1 software?

Is it safe yet?

if you live in a town that has an apple store, sure, take the plunge. If not and you're on a windows machine, id be weary... I was on 1.1.4 and tried to go straight to 2.0.1 and iTunes couldn't finish the update... Eternal spinning wheel on the logo screen. I drove two hours to the apple store to get the phone working and he said just wait until the next iTunes update before I attempt another resore or update. They got me to 2.0.1 at the store and it's cool and all. Apps seem a thousand times more stable than installer and the jailbreak thing.

I'm on an iMac. Is it really a 2 hour update?

Yikes!

if you're on an iMac go ahead. The problem is with windows machines anyway... 2 hours two days ago maybe... Should be much shorter now... Go for it.
