My iphone had iOs 3.1.2 when i bought it..
afetr 2 years i updtaed it through itiune to iOs 5.1.1..
i was about to cry when i saw my iphone locked after updating.. i did unlock it somehow through Redsnow & activated my iphone.. Now my iphone is working but i face some problems related to wifi access. 2ndly i hav to use redsnow to reboot it otherwise it doesn't & it sucks
Now i have 2 questions
1. Is my iphone factory unlocked or not ?
2. If i update my software to iOs6 from my iphone (settings > General) then shall i face the same problem (iphone locked) ? & have to use red snow to jailbreak
Kindly guide me regarding to this

Hello........

1. your iphone is not factory lock because without any trouble you had updated your ios 5.1.1.
2. your fone will go out of your control if you update 6.0.1 with the help of itunes
3. your fone is tethered jailbroken.

bye

nononononoo if u can DOWNGRADE RIGHT NOW TO THE LOWEST FIRMWARE POSSBILE 6.0.1 is slow as fu*k or is ***** slower? if u can go back to 3.1.2 or ios 4, runs very good on 3gs

You still have a tethered boot, you can fix that by installing Rocky Racoon untether in Cydia, that will fix your having to boot via redsn0w.

I can imagine that 6.01 might be a bit much for the 3GS, i would stay on 5.1.1 if i were you.

What wifi problems you have? maybe it can be fixed.
