Which 4.0 ROM do I need in order to Jailbreak... and how do I do it. Please help... sorry for the newbie questions. I have the 2nd generation and 3rd gen iTouch already Jailbroken and they are version 3.1.1 [2nd gen] and 3.1.2 [3rd gen]. What advantages to there going to iOS4.0 seriously?

The 2G iPod and 8Gb 3G iPod really don't gain much from the update, just slowness. The 3G (non-8Gb) gains multitasking and backgounds. To get the 4.0 firmware just plug them into iTunes and click the restore button. This will download the latest version (4.0) and install it. To jailbreak go to jailbreakme.com.

There really aren't that many advantages of going from jailbroken iPod Touch 3.1.2 to 4.0. I have a iPod Touch on 4.0 and there are a few bugs like the lockscreen not being instant etc... but I would still recommend jailbreaking now especially because its untethered (doesn't need a computer to start up).
