Hey folks I hope you don't mind but, I need to ask the brightest. Hence this forum as apple and gmail forums were not able to help.

as mentioned I have lost my gmail password on my iPad!

What do you think? Can I cable my iPad up to my macbook Pro, which does have connection via safari to my gmail which I use daily? Then, in someway use my Macbook pro's/Safari auto password (pic) to update my iPad's gmail?

Sorry, I hate to ask the obvious, but doesn't your Safari on your Macbook Pro have a way to show the saved password (i.e. show the actual text characters that constitute the password) ?

If you go into security/privacy preferences maybe ? (I'm not a Safari user; I use Firefox, but Safari should have something similar)

Re: password saving in Safari: yes, can display via Preferences.

Keychain is also a possibility to locate the password.

However, I believe that Mac Mail.app now uses Google's OAuth authentication to sign-in. It's a unique token tied to the device/account pair.
