Hi,
I'm just enquiring for my friend who has a broken Apple IBook G3 12'', well just the hinge bit. The screen is fine no pixels or anything but just the hinges look quite bad and she wanted me to ask if she needs the whole screen replacing or just the hinges. If you could help, would you post some links to where I can find hinge replacements??
Thanks for your help :)

The hinge assembly is buried way deep within the computer, and it's a pretty heavy duty take-apart to get to it. You'll end up removing most of the parts of the computer, plus, since iBooks are made of plastic, everything snaps together, making it even more difficult to take apart.

But, if you have the time (several hours) to do it, you can fix it relatively inexpensively.
