Hi everyone i hope you are all keeping safe and well

i have my ipad 12.9 m1 2021 model.. but i am still using my 2018 (also 12.9) version because although i have put it next to my 2018 and followed the instructions to set it up i still do not have my 4 bank accounts and 5 email address etc set up they all require me to add passwords and go through security once again

many apps i use like AUTHENTICATION apps don't have my settings in the new ipad

i was wondering is there not a way to just copy this over properly so its like for like?

i also feel like buying the new iphone 13, but again i wont have time to move all bank info and random other apps settings across

Covid is a night mare for me i am working every hour god sends and so far have not found the time to set these up properly :-(

I would really appreciate any advice you have for setting this up super quick

The easiest thing to do would be to make an encrypted backup of your old device using iTunes/Finder, and then restore it to your new device. It should be a near exact copy and don’t need to set things up again since all settings and passwords will be carried over.

When you do the initial setup right out of the box, or following a full reset, you will still have to enter your Apple ID and password at some point early on. Afterwords, the setup will ask if you want to set up the new device by cloning the info/apps/data from another device. For this to work correctly though both devices have to use the same Apple ID. Once you allow setup to populate the new device with everything cloned from the old device, it should have brought over everything including passwords associated with that Apple ID. Apps like banking apps will likely make you sign in again the first time you open them because they recognize you are using a different device, so it is a security feature. However, your passwords should be in Settings --> Passwords where you can find them. However, if you don't use iCloud to store passwords, or you use 3rd party apps to manage them, you will have to locate them. Again, be sure to use the same Apple ID on the new device as you do on the older device you are cloning, otherwise it won't work like you want it to.

I've used this method several times now with no issues.
