I submitted 8 hours ago, still no email.

Many others are having the same problem. Apple's methods for this verification process are very inefficient.

I think it said that the email could take up to 72 hours. My advice to you: stop clicking that refresh button in your browser and get on with your life. The email will arrive when it arrives and there's no point in waiting for it. Doing other stuff will make the time go by faster.
