i've tried at 3 different starbucks now.

i choose tmobile in my wireless settings... its appears to connect. i get the wireless icon in the upper left of my phone....

but i can't surf to starbucksentertainment.com or *.apple.com

and most importantly i can't connect in itunes. i get an error that i can't connect to the itunes store.

is this happening to anyone else? i've tried rebooting the phone... renewing the lease... turning wireless off and on.

i'm running out of ideas! i'm in nyc, btw

the feature will be avaliable starting later this month but only in major select cities.

Besides this, it was ever my understanding that iPhone users would be able to SURF. I'm pretty sure we can only access iTunes.

You say that like we should know where you live, you don't have that info as part of your profile so how are we to know.

As for your problem I do not know, I do not live in one of the blessed areas. It was my understanding that all you needed to do was walk into a starbucks launch itunes Wifi, and a new icon along the bottom would show up, that of a starbucks icon, then you would just need to select that. You should not have to set up your wifi or anything unless you have a tmobile account and you want full internet access, not just Starbucks iTunes Wifi Music access.

Um.. if you read the last line of her post,

i'm running out of ideas! i'm in nyc, btw

"nyc," equals New York City, (New York). I don't see any sign that her post has been edited either... So, just be nice and read the thing twice before saying something like that. Personally, I'm excited when one or two years pass and I'll be able to try this in Colorado.

I've been able to access it in Starbucks in Seattle. My only complaint is not being able to redeem the Starbucks Song of the Day on the iPhone while in the store, though they've just handed me a card offering me the free song. Being a promotion to advertise the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store and the iPhone, you would think they might have thought through that little problem.

First of all, i dont think that it is in your best interest to be so rude if you are looking for help. For future reference, no, we cannot read your mind and you definitely should not edit your OP and then treat everyone like a bunch if idiots because you didnt think to say what you did in the first place.

Now that that us cleared up, I'll overlook your bs.

The obvious stuff:
make sure you have 1.1.1
make sure your wifi is on

If so, you should automatically connect to the wifi network
tap the iTunes button and a new icon will appear in the bottom

And no, you cannot surf the web (according to apple.com)

..but Im nor completly positive, given that I live in Colorado and companies tend to overlook our state

My apologies to the OP, although I never questioned where the OP lived, was defending someone else and assumed something I shouldn't have. I just looked at the name "plate" and saw no location.

This does not take away from the remainder of my post however.

hello... i never edited my original post.. you can see that i did not edit my post because there is no tag that i did so. i don't mean to be rude. i honestly just felt like i was seeing a tad bit of rudeness in the responses i got.

as for the rest of your post i tried all that. i actually read a post on the apple boards from a starbucks employee that listed all the things to do if you could not connect.... reboot, renew the lease, toggle wifi, etc... still no workie :(

My apologies to the OP, although I never questioned where the OP lived, was defending someone else and assumed something I shouldn't have. I just looked at the name "plate" and saw no location.

ok cool! sorry about my post above.. i had only read your earlier post when i responded... guess we both could have read the thread a little more closely.

Can't find any Apple Websites on T-Mobile Hot Spots

For the past two weeks, I have tried to log into iTunes and Apple.com from my T-Mobile Hot Spot account. I'm curious about the iTunes free music promotion, but have found it to be technological bust so far. I'm getting the same error messages as other posters here in thread. Have tried to log on from several different T-Mobile Hot Spots and get the same log-on error messages. I can log on to any other websites no problem except for Apple sites. How bizarre, unless this is Starbucks way (or Apple's, to not have to give away those freebie itunes!). The Safari webpage search progress bar loads about halfway and stops, then I get an error message saying the network connection has failed. This problems occurs with both my MBP and iPhone. Obviously not an isolated hardware issue. I have tested at non T-Mobile hotspots and can access iTunes and Apple sites and download, no problem. Emailed tech support yesterday at T-Mobile. They replied, "we are aware of an issue." Guess I probably won't hear from them for a while. Am curious to know if many other T-Mobile Mac users are experiencing similar problems?
