its spotless. Brought that 'new' feeling back. Plus its an anti-bacterial wipe so that helps. I don't notice any paint peeling off and everything just has that 'sheen' to it. Keyboard feels new, everything just feels new.

I didnt clean the screen with this however, opting for an iKlear for that task. I used the wipes for my PSP and iPod as well and got similar effects. Lots of 'sheen' restoration and a cleaned product.

Just thought i'd share my experience.

one question. did you have tiny little dots on a few of your keys, that you could feel very lightly if you looked closely. But wouldnt come off? I got a few of them on a few keys, and its really annoying.

Remember its Dettol wipes and be gentle. Also you're trying at your own peril, i dont want to be responsible for any screwups. i.e YMMV. Unlikely but posible.

Just checked, no dots here. Smooth as a baby's butt.

what are dettol wipes? nevermind.

pledge multisurface works great for me. never directly spray it onto the MPB. put it onto a damp microfiber cloth and wipe.

I use:
sol_prod_wipes_main.gif

On the screen and all, no damage. Works fine :)

what finish is your screen (glossy or matte)? i used to use these on my IBM ThinkPad (which had a matte screen, btw) and they worked fine but i'm hesitant to use them on my MBP.

17" matte.

Don't see why people hesitate, matte screens are hard coated glass, people use these on glass all the time.

i hesitate because i don't to ruin my glossy screen with something that Apple does not endorse. i think i'll stick with the microfiber cloth and water.

@ ~10¢/whipe, I think I'll stick with
sol_prod_wipes_main.gif
VS something 'endorsed' for ~83¢/whipe[1] and works just as well.

To each his/her own I guess.

Glossy screen and its even matte whilst i still had my PB. However with the glossy screen its a 3 step process compared to the two in Matte.

First you wipe the screen with a dry soft cloth (glasses cloth/towels) to clean dust out.

Second spray iKlear on all four edges and the centre of the screen. Wipe the fluid from end to end till it dries up with cloth. You will then see what appears to be smudges....dont fret.

Third, wait 1 minute, then wipe screen again with a dry cloth, what you're doing this time is 'buffing' the screen kinda like you would do to a shoe you just polished (but not with the same force!!). Do this till the screen becomes spotless (and if all of the above have been done right, it should become spotless)

Voila!, you're done. If a matte screen, chances are you wont need the 3rd step but hey...

Its basically like polishing a shoe. Wipe, Polish and Buff

I got tired of water, i just found it didnt work so well with glossy screens. Its ok but not great.
