I was standing in the store debating about which 21.5 inch to get... went with the baseline model w/ the 2400s. Just geekbenched at 7234, 7121, etc... best (72--) score is with no menu razzle dazzle and software update turned off.

That seems pretty weak to me...I figured with the way the 2011 MBPs have benchmarked the CPU alone should put it in the 9K+ range

Can you go into more detail about what you turned off to get these scores? Thanks

yeah... 32 bit. All I did was pull up activity monitor and disable software update. It was using 1-2% of the processor. FYI... enabling the hidden or magnify option on the dock will drop your score... as will bumping up the screen brightness all the way. Make sure all your programs are off and let 'er rip. I actually have a new 15 mbp and it benches around 103xx. It cost about 3x what this did... so I think this is a wise buy for most people. I sold my mini and a samsung monitor for about $1000 and w/ an additional $220 was able to get this thing. It benches around 2x what the mini did... and it's got thunderbolt... I'm pleased.... not ******** myself, but pleased.
