Has anyone ever gotten this message through SMS

"i sent you a multimeda message. you can view my message via the internet at viewmymessage.com using msg id #####
password ####"

and I went there and entered info and I saw the picture

It's well known this is how AT&T gets around MMS messages on unsupported phones.

Sorry I didnt know and figured Id let others who are NEW to ATT know that it is actually possible to get MMS just a bit harder than usual :)

Cheers

When the iPhone gets this message, can you just click on the link right in the SMS and click through directly to the MMS?

unfortunately there's no hyperlink. And without cut and paste, its very difficult to get to the message on the iPhone.

I came up with the idea that you SAVE the website to your favorites then you can open safari open the favorite and input the code

its not like QUICK but you can indeed see it

I had not had mobile web on my RAZR before, and I was pleased to note that it actually has this feature, that when you get a URL in an SMS, you can click the menu button to go to the URL. Like when Google texts you the Gmail app link (which unfortunately doesn't work with T-Mobileweb anyway, because of port access issues), then you can choose the menu option and download it directly. I was pleasantly surprised.

Maybe Apple can integrate something into the AT&T MMS text to smooth the process over.

Or Apple could just start supporting MMS, it's stupid that they don't, even if they do have email. They're going to run into a hell of a problem when they launch iPhone over here in the UK. People don't use email on their phones as much here and phone operators do not openly support full internet access on their networks. If the rumours are true and Apple are using O2 then they haven't got any sort of fast network in between GPRS and 3G like EDGE, so it's either slower than dialup speeds or stick a 3G chip in the iPhone.

Just got one. I thought there would be a "clickable" link in the message. I'd have to record all of that information then enter it in my browser . . . too much work just to view a message :(

Thanks anyway
