I'm so excited.

Today I ordered the 2nd half of my xmas present from my parents.

Originally I was going to buy an LCD monitor. Instead I opted to buy the following.

-Olympus Sp-500 UZ, 6MP, 10x optical zoom, 2.5" LCD
- 2x 128mb XD cards (it was cheaper than 1 256)
- olympus balistic nylon case

I can't wait to get it.

Well, you still got an LCD monitor. It's just not quite as big.

The camera itself seems quite capable. Hopefully, it's easy to use. I've been using Olympus cameras since the 1970s and everything has been easy but I've never used an Olympus consumer camera and I've read that the menus can be a pain.

Good luck with it. :)

A teacher of mine highly recommended olympus. She has a real old 2mp 10x opt. zoom camera, it cost her $700 like 6 years ago or something. It takes good pics though. She bought her boy friend the C-760 or something like that, the predecessor to the camera I' buying. She set it up for him before she gave it to him and she showed it to me. It took fabulous pictures, the zoom is really nice, and small for large zoom lens.

I was tired of my 3x zoom on my sony, and wanted to upgrade a bit. The 1.5" screen on it also was annoying. Now with a 10x zoom, and a 2.5" LCD, I'll be much happier.

I really like Olympus and I have an Olympus camera (no clue which one). It takes nice pictures though and their tech support is good.
