They just arrived in at the apple store, so I've ordered the 2ghz model fully loaded for £1,156.35!

Not bad...

I'll post some pictures when it arrives

My 2.5ghz Powermac was a refurb and has been totally perfect so far, so I hope the Pro continues my great refurb experiences.... :p

Congrats, I've fully enjoyed my refurb PB for over two years now!

I'm planning on buying a refurb MBP, but I'm getting the 1.83GHz model. I'm not exactly rolling in money.... Still a great deal for US$1549!

I was all set to pick up a MacBook next week, but this could be the way forward!

Payday on friday, and I'm short by £100 till then...will there be any left on Friday..???please!

You think you've got it bad, I've got to wait until NEXT Friday (June 30) until my next paycheck which will seal the deal.

can you buy 'higher education' discounted applecare for refurbished items like mbp?

if the refurbished mbp's have any problems will they be fixed for free under normal one year warranty?

hopefully they appear more often as payday is very soon!

thanks,

 WOOOOOOOT

It should be here according to apple Tomorrow or the day after.....

Wow, that's quick. Mine has a shipping date of 3rd July, so the waiting begins..

It's arrived.....

Got it delivered to work, no picures yet, but here's some info on what you get from the refurb store..

Box

My powermac was delivered in it's original box, but apple uk appears to have changed the process on this, and it was a standard cardboard box with "Apple certified refurbishement" on the side...

Machine

Comes in its plastic cover, and is apsolutely pristine....not a mark on it, it looks brand new and even has the apple smell :-D
Powered it up and had a play, no dead pixels as far as I can see at the moment...

Accessories

As is the standard for apple, all accessories are totally sealed and brand new, apart from the remote, all chargers etc appear to have never been used.

More info tonight when I've had a chance to play with it in deep!

I'm pleased for you!, hoping mine will be here sooner than the estimated delivery date..anticipation is not quite killing me yet, but i'm sure it will...

I've downloaded the 'Apple Store Order Status Widget', and am checking it far too frequently. (13 days and counting..)

Don't think you can.

Yup, same warranty conditions.

 Damn fine question! I thought they all had 'shipping in 8 days' status (as of yesterday), but clearly nihilisticmonk has been lucky?!

*checks order status widget*

I'm pretty sure I just bought the same MBP, they must have had a couple?

My total was the same. Didn't read this thread until after I'd pressed buy.

That was a very spontaneous purchase. Can't quite believe I did it!

Has yours been dispatched/delivered?

No

Just got email confirmation and now it's gone from the refurb store.

i'm aware I could have bought something that doesn't exist, but I am prepared to leave it to fait, if I'm meant to get this one then I'm meant to get it, if not I'm sure there will be similar deals along the way!

Are you sure?

I the following items in the refurb store now:

Thanks,

I still see them listed, too.
Incidentally, I opted for the cheaper of the two, and have an expected delivery date of 5th July.

I have the same date

But judging by the fact nihilisticmonk's only took three days, it could well be here much sooner.

They are probably just covering their backs.

Has anyone ever called an Apple store and asked if they sell open box/return/refurb units?

I was all set to buy a refurb Macbook from apple.com for $949, but it said 5-7 days wait before it was shipped.

Just for funzies I called the closest Apple store (about 45min away) and inquired about open box/return items, if they sold them, and if there was a discount. Wasn't really expecting it, but they do.

Went last night and picked up my almost new Macbook for $989. Only a few light marks on the casing, which you have to turn and angle in the light to see. Screen and keyboard are flawless. OS had been restored to initial boot up sequence.

So its worth a try to call. Don't know if they sell open box/return MBP's, but maybe they do.

Just had notification that it has shipped! ETA 27/06. (just a shame I'll be working away from home until the 29th..)
