Hey guys!
Sorry if this seems pointless, but I needed to share my excitement with someone. I just ordered my MacBook that will replace my iBook:

13" White MacBook
2GHz Core Duo
80GB HD
512MB RAM
SuperDrive
64MB VRAM

So happy! I can not wait to see the step up in speed from my iBook! :) Hopefully, it will be here by the beginning of next week. I will be upgrading the RAM myself to 2GB at a later date. Hopefully within the next few months.

Grats on your purchase!

I also ordered a macbook on monday, almost the same specs except mine has 120gb hdd and plan to upgrade to 2gb ram.

Mine won't arrive till next thursday though :(

Also ordered a Dell 2407WFP to go with it, so it should be sweet :)

I ordered my 2nd replacement 2.5 days ago and have heard nothing about the delivery at all, despite an email to them to see where it is... looks like yet another weekend without a workin MacBook. TNT collected my old one today aswell, so not even a faulty one to gaze at.

I went from the same ibook to the same macbook. I don't think you're going to see much speed increase until you up the RAM, but when you do, it'll be night and day. :)

Don't think he's gonna see that much of a speed increase? I doubt that – my brother had a PowerBook that was about those specs and the difference between it and the MacBook I'm typing on (which has specs the same as the OP) is night and day – this thing is blazing fast compared to it.

Congratulations on your purchase. :)

Congrats on choosing Apple, and choosing one of Apples best products to date (laptop anyway, then again I have never used another Apple laptop, so who am I to say anything) But ur a smart buyer!!!! And my Macbook specs are the exact same as urs, I figured I could upgrade as the price of things go down.

That's awesome. I want to get rid of my Toshiba notebook and get a MB. I'll probably end up waiting a few years though.

Congrats! I remember how excited I was when I ordered my MacBook Pro. I flipped lol. When it got here I had no excitement left lol. It is still the best computer I have ever had seeing as I had been using windows for the past 14 years or so. I remember about a year go August 2nd I orederd my first personal PC for myself, I got it and seeing how it was my first computer I was really excited that i finlly had my own and not having to share with anyone else. Once I heard about the Mac from a few other guys t school I was like hmmmm, I'M gonn look into this. I orederd my MBP on July 14, 2006 and I am loving it. Hope everything is good with yours as well. Have fun with it,

Aaron

So, it has finally arrived! I am thrilled with this machine. I am really glad I chose to go this route. Thanks for all the encouragement in my other thread about selling my iBook, guys! :)
