And I could not be happier. Had a party at my place tonight (March 31) and a ton of people showed up. Friends of mine from college came from their respective places in the US, it was great- although knowing these people, I don't know how I ever survived college. :) It was great birthday- I've never felt so loved. Now I just have to clean up tomorrow, the place is trashed! :) But what a good trashing it was.

You're 40 now.

Got Birkenstocks? Got a pair of white socks? Put two good things together and what do you get? Something that looks fantastic!! :p Time to take out the old tin of Ovaltine and enjoy a nice warm mug of it while watching the The Food Network.

Thanks BV! BTW- did you ever see Inland Empire?

Nope... waiting for the DVD, I'm ashamed to say.
Had a chance to see it when I was in Scotland recently, but not keen on going to the movies by myself.

Sunshine might be my next movie visit.

Things about turning 40: re-realising which brackets you now fall into when answering forms and questionnaires in the age range section. :D

Haha! Yeah I know about the forms. :) My favorite thing about turning 40? I still look good naked. ;) Just ask scem0.:D

As for overdoing it- It's been overdone skunk. :) I've been sitting here consoling my poor, traumatized siamese for the last hour, while having a few more beers of course. ;)

Just as an aside- if you've ever contemplated getting a siamese cat, I highly recommend it. They are lovely creatures with great temperament. I rescued my 8 year-old and she's awesome. She hid a lot tonight, but for the most part handled the event well. I would get another in a heartbeat.

That sort of statement can't be believed without accompanying evidence.

Or to put it another way....

PICTURES!!! WE WANT PICTURES!!!

:) Oh yeah, Happy Birthday Lee!!

You are officially considered "really old" by my generation.

Once you get to 28 or so, you'd be surprised how quickly the years just fly by, and before you know it, someone else will come along and say the same thing to you. ;)

It was only yesterday when I was enjoying the Second Summer of Love.

Yep, you're really old too. :D

Happy Birthday, Lee!

Rmember you said in an earlier post about feeling younger and younger with each passing year. Now you're really proving it :)

Congrats on the uber party :)
Keep it going!

Your post reminds of the wonderful wit of Oscar Wilde: "Youth is wasted on the young." I couldn't agree more, from experience and also because I have to deal with 18 year olds on a daily basis.

That's great! Happy B-Day. Glad to hear the kitty is doing well. It's down hill from here tho, I'm having my 45th right now and holy crap is it ever DULL!

Many happy returns!:D
