I killed my computer

Hello,
I just killed my computer and I'm scared!

I downloaded some fonts. Then my windows like safari and such showed in fonts I couldn't read. I tried deleting the fonts I installed, but some programs won't start, they just bounce, and some options don't show in menus. I tried to restart, stupid me, and I can't get past the blue bar screen. I don't know how to reinstall everything, or if I can, or if I should because I don't want to loose everything on my computer. Please help!

Well, I'm not very well versed with computer issues so you may want to wait and see what other advice spills in from this wonderful community. If i were in your situation, i would attempt to back up whatever I could and then run a "clean install." A clean install would be taking the Mac OS disks and putting them into your computer, then you chose to erase everything off of your computer when you install the OS and voila! your have reinstalled the OS and gotten rid of your problem.
But maybe someone else has a better idea....

How can I back up what is on my machine when I can't log in?

Just do a archive and install,then you can sort out any problems when your back in.

Boot from CD and repair permissions, and see what happens.
