So i took my iphone that I unlocked via Ziphone a little while back and figured, ehh what the hell, ill upgrade to 2.0. I completely forgot I was going to have an issue with unlocking the phone again.

I upgraded, and tried Pwning it, which it said it didnt have the needed file, i later relaized i was supposed to pwn it from 1.1.4. I tried Ziphone again, and again, and it kept crashing. After restoring this thing for the 6th time I downgraded to Itunes 7.5. and now this is where I am at. (I am on a mac running OSX if this helps)

My phone has the old activiation image, but a bit modified, I am assuming this is because it has 2.0 on it. its the other end of the USB cable.. the actually USB end, and the itunes image.

Itunes 7.5 doesnt reconize the phone is there, and it did at one point say it was in recovery mode and couldnt help me. Now when I go to put it in DFU mode the whole mac freezes... the most success I ahd it restarting the mac while the iphone was plugged it. itunes said "waiting for iphone" and just ebfore the bar was complete the iphone screen turned white, and again...the mac froze.

can ANYONE help me some how. I just want the end result to be an unlocked iphone that runs 2.0 apps.

Thanks!!!

You can pwn the phone directly at 2.0 by entering DFU mode.

Did you read the FAQ or any of the tutorials?

What file did it say you needed? Possibly the bootloader .bin files.

My advice to you is upgrade back to 7.7 iTunes.

Restore back to 2.0.

Use PwnageTool - make the custom IPSW - follow the DFU instructions and restore to the custom IPSW.

And NEVER use ZiPhone as it causes problems and doesn't fix them - and it doesn't work on 2.0 anyway! which may be why its crashing!

Ill try Pwning it again, it was asking for a lootloader, which I found the bin file.. but still wasnt working... Please keep in mind I need this Unlocked for use on tmobile..

(and no, i didnt read the FAQ like a moron :[ )

So everything seems good to go now, got itunes 7.7 back, created the firmware.. now as I do the DFU steps again, itunes says "waiting for ipod" and bam, comp freezes yet again...

Now what? :(

All this ziphone hate is nonsense. I know three people, myself included, who had ziPhone unlocked phones. All have used pwnage 2.0 or 2.01, all used pwnage straight to resotre to 2.0 legit and then once in emergency mode did a restore to pwned 2.0.

PS to explain. I had no luck on my laptop, kept dying on restore to pwned firmware, but went to another machine and it was clockwork !

You mean the same kind of thing like mine? The constant freeze as it completes "waiting for ipod"?

my system wasn't freezing but the phone was locking up and rebooting continuously. When I went to another machine it worked perfect 1st time.
