My 2 & 4 yr olds! This thing puts to Leapfrog to shame!

They love my iphone, and the educational apps even larger on this screen will be nice. I would love to see a learn-to-read app, that sounds out and highlights the words as you scroll the pages with touchable animated pictures. :)

Would you REALLY let your kids play with a fragile $500 to $900 device? Seriously??

i bought my 3 year old grandson an ipod touch for his 3rd birthday for games and videos. wrap it in an otterbox defender and he's all set.

3 & 4 yo's are not the drooling little monsters that say a 1 or 2 yo are.

i'm sure otterbox will come out with a case for this thing too.

p.s. a 3 yo dropping this from waist-high is way better than me dropping it from waist-high.

p.p.s. he can operate his touch better than his mom, dad, or mimi can operate there iphones. hell he even knows what all the lock codes are for his touch and his mom and dad's iphones.

Maybe not the 2 year old, but sure the 4 year old should be able to handle it fine, just let them use it on a bed of the carpet only, its a big sheet of glass ;)

Does a 3 year old REALLY NEED that expensive of a toy? Man, that sure sounds indulgent. It's not like a kid who doesn't have one is deprived.

well when the little **** knows how to pick up that big ass remote and switch from audio to cable and change my channel to noggn', it's time to get him something to watch his videos on.

you should see him blaze through the "moron test" :)

and i might add that i had that same thought of "indulgence" when i saw high schoolers with cell phones a few years back.

You got it all wrong. If you buy it for them, they will play with it for a day or two and then it would end up in the toy box. If you buy it for yourself, they will try to get their hands on it every opportunity.

Videos? what about drawing? legos, playing with other kids, being read to by mom or dad? there's something wrong with society that has kids being "baby sat" by the boob tube. sigh.

and there it goes....

eventually someone brings some notion of bad parenting up.

let's see....

i've coached all my kids in softball year end and year out. they are all involved in activities with school and church. i spent the last three weekends assembling a giant sky-fort/swing set/monkey bars/slide for the kids. hell, the three year old take karate and swim lessons.....

he watches his videos at night and as far as reading to him, i and his parents let him read to us. he's learned from apps on his ipod touch- amazing, right?
