I lost all my contacts when I converted my mobile me to icloud

When I converted/merged the account all my contacts on my phone disappeared. I was able to sync my iphone to my imac running leopard and retrieve them, but they still aren't showing up in my icloud. What am I doing wrong? My iphone is running IOS5

Have you gone back into your iCloud settings to reenable contact syncing?

I can't find that option...

I have all my contacts synced to my outlook account at work as well but I don't know how to import them.
