Using Macbook air 2011 on ML 10.8 and wanted to take a pict but Facetime, Photobooth and Skype says that there is no camera connected

Possible botched install.
Try repairing permissions. See what that may do. (Its in disk utility.)

Nope still doesnt work

all it does is a camera sign with a slash on it

i had to reset my smc (or was it pram) when i had this issue on my black macbook.

give it a try. google for instructions

Pull up the USB tab in the "system information" app.

Same thing happened to my late 08 MB. It was fixed by shutting computer down and then turning it back on.
