I love my new Mac Mini 2.53GHz, no regrets

I absolutely love this new mac mini. I've never owned a mac desktop before and my later 2009 15" MBP is my first mac ever. I'm extremely happy with this. I even posted a few videos on you tube and user name is aieaboi74. I'm glad I got this instead of the new imac since I already have all the Apple peripherals and 24" ACD. It just looks very nice sitting on my desk underneath my ACD. I bought a 1TB seagate external HD for Mac for my mac mini specifically so I can store extra movies there if I wanted to and also for definite time machine backups. So I guess its both a backup and extra storage device, best of both worlds.

As for my seagate 500GB Freeagent Go portable HD, I'm soley using it for my MBP to take around. Had to reformat it because I used it with the mini also and something happened to eat up majority of the HD space. I had 400GB left on that HD before I hooked it up with the mini and chose "Reuse backup". Then afterward, I was left to 52GB left on the Seagate Freeagent Go! O well, reformat!

I write a lot to give as much info i can. This thing is indeed a little beast inside now compared to my friend's early 2009 mac mini. It's significantly faster and although it looks the same as the earlier models, its still damn sexy with the thought that it can rumble my world from the inside. That's what she said. The new iMacs are beautiful as well and it's nice to have an "all-in-one". Maybe I'll get one for my family's second floor living room upstairs as like a computer and "TV" for movies and boxee/hulu and other movie or tv applications, netflix? lol. Possibilities! anyway, I love this mac and I won't be buying anymore mac computers and stuff for a while as I just bought a new iPhone 3GS last week as well and I just converted from t-mobile with the iPhone 3G (bought it used) to a new AT&T subscription for 2 years, which is the length that I'm covered with the iPhone's applecare. I better ease my spending for now! Oh yeah forgot, I'm selling my sister my 2 month old mighty mouse because I'm waiting for my shipment of the new magic mouse from apple. That's all for now! Really!

I guess having a 2.53GHz C2D will improve on the speed but will it be noticeable compared to the earlier 2.0GHz C2D? My only gripe is I bought my early 2009 mac mini in the later part of this year. At the price I paid for my mac mini I would have gotten the new mac mini 2.53GHz. Damn I hate my local apple center. They should have at least advice on waiting for the new model.

I don't think they knew or they didn't want to tell people "just wait for the new one" otherwise people won't buy. If you really want the new one, just sell yours and buy the new one. I'm sure someone would buy it from you for at least $400-$500 because these sell like crazy. Someone who just wants to use it for a HTPC then they'll buy it for that purpose and since it's cheaper than buying the new ones now. My advice is, if you really want the 2.53GHz, then sell your previous version and spend a few bucks more for the new one...maybe a couple hundred bucks but hey, it just came out . I compared it with my friend's mac mini. It's not just me and I did notice a slight speed difference. I think 2.53GHz is a significant bump up from 2.0. I've heard the 2.26 isn't THAT noticeable if not at all but still its a processor bump up. Depends on what your budget is too. If you're willing to shell out some cash now and plan on keeping your computer like forever, then by all mean, I would suggest the high-end model. Then again, depends on you.

I will try to get a comparison video up on youtube later whenever I have time...damn school papers. I counted the boot up times and the new ones boot up quicker. Application in iLife wise, they're almost the same speed in opening programs. But, when I opened up keynote and other "more graphic" using programs, the new mac mini was significantly faster. I'm happy with my purchase and I don't plan on buying another computer for at least three years since I have the peace of mind with applecare.
