I just got my new iMac today. 20 incher 2.4ghz. I just wanted to put my review of the new keyboard out there. I LOVE IT. It is by far the best keyboard I have ever used. So, if you are worried about the new keyboard, don't be. IMHO.

Also, the mighty mouse blows. Is that thing made of paper mache or what? Thank goodness I had a wireless Logitech laying around.

i love the keyboard too..its so silent..you can really bang the keys card!
 
Macbooks and iMacs and Keyboards Oh My!

I have an OLD iMac, and its keyboard is big and clunky, and this iMac has been giving me a lot of trouble lately, but I have used the new Macbook's keyboard, and it is awesome.

Same! I absolutely love it! I'm coming from a Logitech media keyboard. Just got the Apple keyboard this past weekend, no regrets at all! Great for anything from instant messages to gaming. I like how its like a laptop keyboard because you don't have to push the key down as far as a standard keyboard for it to register. Hope it holds up over time though but I think it will, I've got a Compaq laptop from 02 or 03 and it's keyboard is still running strong. Just another great Apple product :)
 
I have to agree about the keyboard. It's funny, on my old G# keyboard I'd use it while on the phone with my girlfriend and she'd hear me type. Always complaining that I was too preoccupied than to talk to her. She can not hear me type anymore while we're on the phone.

Everything about this iMac is great.
 
Excellent Keyboard

I have to agree as well. I picked up the aluminum keyboard a couple weeks ago and found it to be much better than standard keyboards, even Logitech keyboards. It small too, so my desk doesn't feel as cramped anymore. Now if Apple can just do something about the Mighty Mouse... maybe take a shotgun and... (bang!)
 
I have the wireless aluminum KB and I must say it took some getting used to. It's very small, I believe it's the same size as the MBP? Don't quote me on that though. But now that I'm used to it, I LOVE IT!

I have the same one too and love it. I offically bought it for my new iMac when I can afford to get it as I wanted a wireless one, but I occasionally use it on my MBP too when I want to sit back and relax. Love it :D
 
got one a few weeks back. its a great keyboard, makes going from my macbook to my iMac much easier too since i don't have to change key styles

What's funny is that when it was first announced, a ton of people on MR moaned about it. Likewise, many haughtily declare the PB/MBP keyboards to be better than the MBs'. Since I first typed on a MB (Jan. '07) I became enamored with the MB and its KB. I was, to say the least, ecstatic when Apple announced the new alum KBs. :eek:

I bought two. :eek: I've since given one away, but still... It's swoonerific. That's why the MBA is so awesome! The perfect KB! MB style, but backlit. Yum.

I think I was one of those moaners :eek: then I got one and realized the error of my ways. :p This keyboard is quite nice! I really do love the powerbook's keyboard for typing too though.
 
my only complaint about the new keyboards is the BT one having no numpad. so i have a corded keyboard. :rolleyes:
 
You guys really hate the Mighty Mouse? I have the BT one and I love it. I don't have any of the interference problems, and it seems to be constructed well enough to not be called Papier Mache` :).

I have no doubt that it works FINE for some people... but if you've ever used a high quality wireless mouse such as one in the 'MX' Logitech line, you would understand the difference. :)

Yep. Another example of Apple thinking they know what we want/need better than we do.

That said, I love both keyboards. I'd get one for my work computer if I wasn't so in love with my Das Keyboard.
 
I really like the Al KB. It is so easy to type on. But I also really like my MM. I did really like my Mouse BT Al from MacMice but it didn't work to well with my Mini. So I bought a MM. I haven't tried it with my iMac b/c I like the scroll ball vs. wheel. Only issue is I have to clean the ball occassionly with an air can to get it to track well.
 
Yeah, Just got my first mac (mac mini) the other day and went out straight away for this keyboard. I highly recommend buying this keyboard, its amazing. So quiet and easy to type on, its unbelievable!

I think yours feels more sturdy because of the 2AA batteries inside.
 
Nope, don't like it. Feels very light and not enough feedback to the fingers. Don't get me started on the MM. It's too hollow like it's on air. I have been using the MX Rev. and Dinovo Edge for the last year so it's probably why I didn't find the new hardware all that.
