On my way out of Wal-Mart today I noticed a giant poster stating that the HP iPod would be in-store in May.

Perhaps this is finally my excuse to get one. (10% Discount)

any word if the shuffles or any other ipods are going to make it into Walmart? i hate that place but it would be a huge distribution for apple

I don't think apple stuff will make it into walmart, its probably only going to be there through HP. (which is part of the reason apple agreed to being with hp is for extra market shares)

**edit**
although I will say that VIP (an auto parts place here in maine) offers a lot of the belkin accessories for iPods.

is it really worth buying from wal-mart just to save 30 dollars?
theyre one of the absolute worst businesses in just about every area - outsourcing, wages, small business takeover, product censorship, to name a few...
buy direct from apple or - even better - find a local (or online, if necessary) independent retailer!

It is official, "At least here in the midwest" Mullet Mart is now carrying Ipods, Both the HP and apple versions as well as the shuffle. Needless to say I was shocked. The one thing I was surprised by was the fact that the price was only 1-2 dollars cheaper.

Our walmart in Oneida, NY has tons of iPods including:

Photo, Shuffle, Regular white one ;), U2 and a whole bunch of accessories and stuff.

EDIT: and all the HP+iPod ones

hmm, they haven't shown up here at the local store here. Not that I would buy one there if they did, but at least I wouldn't have to drive two hours to physically look at them

It's bringing some much needed good taste to Wal Mart, next thing you know, the customers will be moving up to Target or something.
