My iphone 7 does not have that function were you hold down the arrow and other options pop up before you send the message. did they remove it?

Check to make sure you don't have reduce motion enabled. You might also try disabling and re-enabling iMessage.

I think the blue arrow only appears of your sending a message to someone with an iPhone

I enabled and disabled reduced motion and it works now! Thanks!
