So the due date is tomorrow at 5pm and I submitted my app last night. If I get approved then I should be in for launch but if they reject it I probably wont have time fix and resubmit. If they respond today or tomorrow morning I should be good but I'm guessing I wont hear back until next week. Hopefully they approve it! :)

yes, but it all depends on the size of the app is it big or small. Not memory wise but programming wise. For, example my app is 12,500 lines of code and i'm on the edge of my seat as to weather it will be reviewed in time

Mine(not counting frameworks or external libraries) is under 1000. According to my web records they haven't use it as of yet and the deadline is today! Hopefully it's approved.

The deadline is for submission rather than approval I think?

Yes but if for some reason they reject it there wont be time to resubmit. I'm just worried they'll find some stupid reason to reject it that takes 30 seconds to fix but I wont be able to resubmit because it will past the deadline.

If you read the email they sent out carefully it says

-You will receive additional information about submitting your app for the final review before the iPad ships

-Only apps submitted for the initial review will be considered for the grand opening of the iPad app store

So basically apple will see if your app works and if they like it. If apple likes it and it works you will submit it for the final review process.

So this review process is not the final one and there will be time to fix those bugs if they find any, and it should make it through the much smaller crowd of apps being reviewed. There will defiantly be that round up of people who will start developing now just to get there apps on the iPad but they won't have enough experience and the app won't be good and apple will reject it. I'm not trying to be mean to those people but they have to realize that they aren't going to be able to learn how to code in 2 months. I know thats how i started out, the second i opened xcode for the first time i looked at it and had no idea what i was doing.

Step 4:

Receive Feedback

You will receive an email from the App Review Team confirming the results of the initial review.

If no modifications are required:
You will receive a confirmation email from the App Review Team and an approval notice from the iTunes Store Team.
Your app will appear in iTunes Connect as "Approved"
You will still need to compile and resubmit your app once the iPhone SDK GM Seed is available.
If modifications are required:
You will receive an email detailing the required changes.
Your app will appear in iTunes Connect as "Rejected".
Resubmit your app before the March 27 deadline to have your app considered for the grand opening.
You will also need to compile and resubmit your app once the iPhone SDK GM Seed is available.

I'd say it depends more on the complexity of the app and not the size. And SLOC is not really a great way to measure a program anyways.

I've just had a new iPhone app approved in a little over a day. So they are approving pretty quick right now...

I'm guessing the iPhone line and the iPad line are two separate beasts at the moment. I submitted my iPad app early Friday AM and am still waiting.

I wonder if it has to do with available hardware? Security is probably super-tight around the iPads they are using to test all the new app son and it may be limiting test throughput...

well, i submitted it thursday and it went into review exactly 5 minutes later but haven't heard since. On the edge of my seat checking iTunes Connect every second.

I'm pretty sure all new iPad apps are automatically going into review shortly after submission, but it doesn't necessarily mean someone is looking at them. Mine took exactly 2 seconds to go from Waiting for Review to In Review.

That's what I'm guessing.

Same, as the New York Times puts it "with those developers that have been allowed access to one still being forced by Apple to keep it locked in a dark room (seriously)"

So the deadline has come and gone so my only hope is that that approve the app. If they do approve it hopefully it's soon so I have the last few days to add some polish before I have to do the final submission.

I'm in the same boat as you, i found a bug right after i submitted it and finished the update just after the deadline so I'm just really hoping to have enough time to submit the update before the launch.

So I got the email about submitting the final version before Match 31st yet my app is still under review. Weird, I guess they sent this out to everyone but how can I submit the final version if I don't know if if the first version was correct?! :(

I was thinking the same thing, but I just noticed that even though the status of my app still says "In Review", the version changed from "1.0" to "1.0 SEED5 APPROVED". Now I would like to know if I need to reject the current binary and upload the new one, or wait until the status changes to "Ready for sale".

Mine doesn't say that :(

Damn you Apple! The final deadline is tomorrow at 5pm and I haven't heard back about the original submission. I don't know if I should fix something before I submit the final release or not. :-(

well i have been playing my iPad app and have been noticing bugs along the way any bug i find i've been fixing. But apple hasn't gotten back to me about m app either! I submitted mine the day before you so if my gets approved i'll let you know.

Well, I got some feedback. But apparently my app crashes on startup when running on the iPad and no crash log is generated. This should be fun.
