I need a little help replacing slider background.

I've been using LockInfo for about three weeks now on my Lock and Home screen. I would like to be able to see all the way to the bottom on the lock screen but the "Slider" blocks the text at the bottom. I've downloaded two "transparent" slider backgrounds (topbarbkgnd.png and bottombarbkgndlock.png) and would like to replace the stock slider background image. I'm not using WinterBoard.

Where would I copy these files to and what files do I need to backup? I just want to be extra careful.

One other thing, is it possible to replace the Springboard Wallpaper with a .PNG wallpaper of my choice just by copying the file to a folder?
