I wanted to wait for the new MAC pro but it seems they will not be there before March 2010. So I decided to buy a secondhands iMac (2.4 GHz, 4 Gb RAM) as intermediate untill the new Mac pro's arrive. My question is if the above described iMac is suitable to edit AVC-I-100 in FCS and other software like Motion, AE and photoshop? I am especially afraid that the AVC codec requires a more powerfull MAC. Any recommendations/advise and opinions based on own experiences are welcome.

Hell, my Macbook Aluminum can do it on a USB drive. You'll have zero trouble.

Is there a difference between a 2008 and 2009 imac 24 inch, 3.06 GHz regarding the video cart? What is the difference between the 8800 GS and the GT130 ?? which one is the best?

Oh no not agaaaaaaaaaaaain! (Flash back April-ish 2009) :) They are very similar cards but real life experience and most benchmarks show that the gt130 is all around better than the previous model 8800gs, but just marginally. The icing on the cake for the newer model should be the fact that it has faster DDR3 RAM vs the slower not to mention less expandable DDR2 in the earlier version.
