I wouldn't think so but, nobody knows for sure when Apple will update again. I see no need for you to wait if you need a new MBP. I would say the chances of another release this year are less than 1%.

I think you are pretty safe. Chip shortages, supply chain issues, COVID probably bumped the timeline for when the M2 will come out.

Yup. OP, I wouldn't expect a new one until sometime between Spring and Fall of 2023. The rest of 2022 is busy with things that aren't refreshed MacBook Pros.
