Currently I'm running 5.0.1 jailbroken on my 4S (I know, I know, but if it ain't broke don't fix it). It's becoming less than desirable to use (it's broke now) and I'm having lots of issues. Not sure if it's the IOS age or what but either way, I'm ready to change. Can I still go to a 6.1.2 jailbreak? I found the download for 6.1.2 and the jailbreak info, just wasn't sure if it would still verify or if I'm out of luck at this point.

Thanks,

Josh

Looooooooooooooong answeeeeeeeeeeer: "Nope!"

Nope, the jailbreak train for 4S pulled out of the station the moment Apple stopped signing 6.1.2

As you can see the "if it ain't broken don't fix it" really does not apply to remaining jailbroken. If you value your jailbreak, you should spend a bit of time to stay informed and stay current.
This forum is chock full of threads such as yours by others who simply missed the jailbreak train.

That's what I was afraid of...

Any other options you would suggest? Stay where I am and deal with the problems? Upgrade to 6.1.3 and hope there's a jailbreak sometime soon? Use it for target practice?

Definately this...

I saw when the jailbreak became available, just never got around to updating.

Start by removing Cydia tweaks that you think are suspicious. Also, look at this link: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1568493/

It is very unlikely there will ever be a jailbreak for 6.1.3

Yeah, doing some more reading while trying to research this and figuring out that iOS 7 is probably my best bet. Not sure I can make it through the summer as is, but hopefully doing some cleaning will resolve my issues. I think the iTunes problems this morning and iCloud issues that are resulting are making me a little more frustrated than normal.

I'm going to mess with it this weekend after I've had time to back up a few things that I'm concerned about losing.

If you used iTunes to restore to 5.0.1 and don't have an OTA install or factory fresh install of 5.0.1 and you saved the 5.0.1 SHSH after the iTunes restore, you "should" be able to re-restore to 5.0.1. (Read #2 in the link I posted earlier)

If this fails, you would be forced to 6.1.3, so it is no slam dunk - but is an option to try.

You would use the newest Redsn0w, iClarified.com has tutorials

Good luck !

Thanks! I'll see what I can accomplish/destroy, later this evening...
