Hi all!

I'm going to buy a Macbook Pro soon. I would really appreciate it if somebody would post side by side comparison pics of the 15inch and 17inch MBPs. I want to see how big/small they are when compared to each other.

I would love it if you could give me shtos from different angles.

Thanks so much!

I can probably do it for you Wednesday if someone hasn't already done it by then.

Try here. Open a browser window for the 15" and another for the 17" then open the Quicktime VRs and spin them to your heart's content.

I don't think that would do. Thanks anyway. I need pics of both laptops in the same picture, at the same time. :)

Obviously you're not a golfer.
the thing that really sold me on the 17 size-wise is when i went to an apple store and laid the closed 15 on top of the closed 17. then you get a feel for how similar in overall "carrying" size they really are. its not a big difference, about a finger's width around.

im going for the 17.

I dunno why, but the 17" MBP palm rests (below keyboard) seem to be very empty-like something should be there but isnt.

Yeah that's what I always thought as well :) They keyboard looks so small compared to the rest of the case...

Yeh, I too think the 15" is better visually, the 17" just has slightly wrong proportions IMO. The 15" is the perfect size for me...

From someone who uses both computers (newest models) consistently, I'll give my 2 cents. No one will doubt that the 17" is an awesome machine. It boasts Apple's best laptop specs. Considering it's not to far ahead of the high end 15" size is the big factor. My dad for instance, loves his 17" MacBook Pro. If someone gave me a 17" and I would immediately sell it and get a 15". It's all about personal preference.

By the way, I'll still post those photos tomorrow as needed.

I've seen the 17" MBP, and I have to say, it's too big. I mean, hot as hell, but still...just far too big. If I did get a 17", it'd be desktop replacement...as it stands though, that's what I use my 15.4" for. :p

17" is just far too big.

Just a word of caution to the OP in light of the other current thread here.

When you (as a newbie, and ALL your posts are in this thread) ask for photos of MBPs from many angles and you are not satisfied with those links and photos already posted you risk being associated with scamming. Now I'm sure you are not, but you need to be aware that there are scammers who sell on the basis of quality photos that have been taken in a workplace or home. Where do they get those quality photos? From threads like this.

Anyway, good luck in your buying decision.

These are kind of half assed. Pictures might look a little grainy but should get the point across.

Thank iJon! The 17 inch is not much bigger than the 15 inch. People are really exaggerating the size of the 17inch.

Thanks! I will definitely go for the 17 incher. :)

The difference that I personally noticed between the two was the depth of the palm rest - ie on the MBP 17" there is more space between the keyboard and the touchpad area and it definitely appears bigger because of this.
