I am trying to figure out how to use the glass orb dock with the standard iphone settings and springboard. I have ssh installed and am using winterboard on my 2.1 jailbroken 2g phone. I have windows xp if that makes a difference. Thanks for any help.

1. Make yourself a copy of the theme that has the dock that you like.

2. Leave the dock in the folder, but remove everything else.

3. Rename the folder to "Glass Orb Dock.theme," or whatever name you like.

4. Move the new theme to the top of your Winterboard theme list on your device. It will now load before anything else does in Winterboard, and over-ride anything else that is part of another theme that is lower in the hierarchy.

There are other ways to do this, but I prefer this method, as it gives you the option to change it again later, on the fly, and use it with any other theme that you choose, at any time that you choose.

Thanks for the reply. If the theme is on my phone where do I find the folder where it is? Do I have to find it on the phone and then copy it to the computer, remove everything but the dock then copy it back to the phone? Or is this all done on the phone without the computer. Sorry to seem so dumb, but this is new to me. Where are winterboard themes stored on the iphone if I use ssh to view them on the computer.
Thanks for any help.

Var--> Stash --> Themes.xxxx

Move a copy to your computer, and that is the one that you will modify. SSH that back into the same folder as the one above.

Thanks for your help. It worked great! I had to leave 5 of the png icon images in the icon folder so the dock would have the right icons in it.
Thanks again.

You're right! I didn't even think to mention the icons for the docked items!

I'm glad that you were able to work that out, and I'm also glad that I could help. It pleases me to do so, as I wouldn't be where I am today, as far as jailbreaking knowledge and skill level, if not for helpful people online. :)

P.S. Be sure to keep a back-up of your new theme! If you ever update your OS or restore your device, you will need to manually add it back again!
