If I buy a brand new macbook pro whenever Fry's gets them in, what are my chances of getting a white screen without any issues?

I saw one today at Fry's that was incredibly pure white, and I would be very happy with that screen. It is, bar none, the best laptop screen that I've ever seen. I want that and demand that from a $2000 machine.

So...are my odds of getting a good screen as of today more on the order of 90%, 75%, 50%, 25%?

I would like a 75% chance of getting a good display b/c I think that I have worse luck than average. lol:D

i suggest just going to the store and buy your mac and come home without worrying about anything..i got my 15'' matte macbook pro after hearing all the creepy threads here...i got a 100% healthy machine...nothing to worry about just go buy it.

I only bought 1 MBP, so I can't how much % chance you have. I do know that I am still amazed with the great screen. For me the screen is perfect, white is white, red is red and so on. The first time I saw some home made pictures it was the first time I saw the colors as they realy were. I haven't seen any of the yellow screens, at the apple stores here they look the same as I have. I do know the white get yellow when you look in a 45º angle or more. No yellow spots at the corners, no dead/stuck pixels and so on.
Just buy one and try. Negative always gets more attention then the possitive...

Don't think anyone here is going to be able to give you "hard numbers".

Best is just purchase one and if you get a bad apple make an appointment and get a replacement.
