Hello,

I am trying to create a quick service that when I select a bunch of folders, then right click on them then go to services, I have an option to remove all files from the folders and leave the files in the root folder that they are in.

I am trying to use this workflow https://sutocom.net/2015/02/20/mac-utility-automator-subfolder-zapper-workflow/

I was able to save it as a quick service, but it doesn't appear in the submenu. is there something I am doing wrong?

thanks,

From what I can tell (and I had to follow a few links to get to this) the automator application doesn't do what you describe. You pick the root folder and it moves all the files in the subfolders to the root folder level then deletes the empty subfolders. However, I can't figure out the "Move Finder Items" step…not sure how to set it properly to "hostFolder".

a simple AppleScript can't do what I need?

why did you remove your comment about me paying someone t write an AppleScript?

im sorry that i myself don't have the knowledge to help you on this.

i have found that MacRumors forums have only 1 useful pupose: to listen to mac related opinions about new hardware or software.

i have rarely found MacRumors forums useful for many people to solve their everyday mac related issues.

its truly been a disappointing realization over the years.

IMO, I see lots of threads where people are helping others to answer their questions and solve issues when possible. At least that is what I have noticed in the threads that I have been involved in.
